Dear Parents and Guardians, Thank you for your overwhelming approval of the budgets over the past years. It is that time of year again. Another solid educational plan is set within the proposed budget. In the upcoming vote you will decide to continue the high quality education in a district where “children come first”. The proposed budget increase is just 2.79% for a total of $9,382,319. This year is the fourth year in a row of less than a 5% tax increase. In fact, it is the lowest increase in seven years. In recent years you have seen 4.88%, 4.22%, 3.99%, and now 3.80%. We are proud of our students for the improved learning represented by higher test scores on the state assessments. Children are better prepared because you supported the educational plans and budgets over the past years allowing us to align curriculums and deliver a well-rounded education. Secondary math is still being revised as we move from Math A/B to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. This year you will be asked to vote on two additional propositions. Brief explanations of the propositions are listed in the newsletter and at the voting booths. The Board of Education and administration ask that you join us in planning ahead to reduce future costs and continue on the path of improved program and infrastructure. Your vote is necessary to let us know if you support the educational program and concepts as presented. Please set aside a few minutes on Tuesday, May 20, from 3-9:00 p.m. to vote. Most Respectfully, Craig G. Carr, Ed.D., |
