Stars in Training!
Five talented Roxbury students are participating in a workshop designed to improve their vocal music performing abilities. Karly, Jon, Alexa, Mickey and Jefferson are spending two Saturdays studying vocal production, diction and how to communicate a song’s message. They’re working on pieces to be performed at the NYSSMA Adjudication Festival May 17th, as well as pieces chosen for their own enjoyment. The five are all members of the RCS Senior High Chorus directed by Mrs. Carol Ann Dykstra.
The instructors are well-known local performers Patricia Dell and Kent Brown, who bring a wealth of performing experience to these lively workshops, which are sponsored by the Roxbury Arts Group, through funding from Kids in the Kaatskills.
A Public Performance by these students was held Friday, March 7th, at the Roxbury Arts Group’s Hilt Kelly Hall, on Vega Mountain Road in Roxbury.
