Dear Parents, Students and the Roxbury School Community:
I was informed by the Delaware County Public Health Department that we have one new positive member of our school community.
As a result, we have a number of staff members and students in quarantine.
I do wish to clarify one thing regarding the need to quarantine: The number of persons quarantined is not the same as the number of cases.
CDC and NYS Department of Health guidelines call for a person to be quarantined if they were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID 19. One infected person can be in close contact with dozens of others before the onset of symptoms. In order to limit further spread, all of those individuals need to quarantine.
As a result, we are moving to full remote instruction for all grades PK – 12 through Friday, March 19, 2021. We will return to in-school learning on Monday, March 22, 2021.
All Students attending VoTech programs at BOCES will continue to attend in person. Students attending all day programs at the BOCES centers in Milford and Grand Gorge will also continue to attend in person.
Meals for all students will be delivered on Thursday March 4th beginning at 9:00 am.
The normal Friday bus run will deliver academics to the fully remote students beginning at 8:00 am.
Academic materials for all students will be delivered on Monday March 8th beginning at 9:00am
Thank you.
Stay Safe and Healthy,
Jeffrey J. Bennett
Superintendent
