Picture retakes is scheduled for Tuesday 11/21/23. The following message is from Up Country Photo:
“For a nominal $3.00 fee we will re-photograph your child for the same package as originally ordered, whatever the reason. Please return your portraits to the school with $3.00 retake written on the outside, along with name and grade. Enclose $3.00. Of course, if eyes were closed or there was a technical problem there is no charge for the retake.”

Please be advised that the NCOC campus was evacuated due to a propane smell. Emergency personnel checked out the scene. Students came back to RCS by bus and were evaluated by our nurse, Karen Hinkley. Since students followed protocol and left without their personal belongings, our transportation team is returning to BOCES to pick up their things with the students. If you have questions, please feel free to call.

Happy Halloween! I am excited to participate in Roxbury's trick or treating this evening. If you are in town, please stop by the old foyer doors Michael and I will be there welcoming trick or treaters. Since we don't have our own home in Roxbury yet, we thank the district for allowing us to distribute our candy at the school. Wishing everyone a safe and fun Halloween!

Dear Roxbury School community,
I write to share that our building has been colder than we would like. This is due to multiple factors. We have two construction projects that are being finished up and integrated into our system-- the two projects are the classroom heating/cooling units and the replacement of our large hot water heater. We also have a part of the boiler pump that is not working fully. We are aware of these factors and they are being addressed.
This morning, I have confirmed that the heating system is functional and safe and has the capacity to heat our instructional spaces. We are monitoring the temperatures, specifically our Buildings and Grounds team are taking the temperature of each room.
I apologize for the chilly start to the week; please reach out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Stacy Ward, Superintendent

This is a reminder that tomorrow, Friday October 13th, the Class of 2026 will host a haunted house fundraiser at Roxbury Central School. The event begins at 6 PM. Admission is $10 per family and $5 for individuals, and families are welcome to attend. There will be games, arts and crafts, and a movie, as well as food items and other crafts available for purchase. And once again, the costume swap will be set up. The family event ends at 8 PM. Students in grades 7-12 are then permitted to stay from 8-10 PM for a movie night. This part of the event is for students only. ALL students wishing to attend MUST have a permission slip signed. All students must leave the building by 10 PM. Please make sure you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up no later than 10 PM. Please come support the Class of 2026 and have a spookily good time! We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Please note some important changes to the haunted house at RCS this Friday! The later showing will end at 10 PM- NOT 11 PM. All students must be picked or leave the building by 10:00 PM. Additionally, permission slips are required to view the later movie. These will be handed out during English classes. If a student leaves the building prior to 10 PM, he or she will not be permitted to re-enter. Finally, the costume swap will once again be set up, so feel free to bring in gently used items, pick something new to you, or do both! We hope to see you at the haunted house!

Picture day is October 25, 2023!
